If I could recommend just one resource to every web security student, it would be the OWASP Top 10. Updated by a global community of security professionals, this document ranks the most critical web application security risks and underpins many industry standards and security audit requirements.

Something I emphasize in my courses: the goal of the OWASP Top 10 isn't memorizing vulnerability names — it's understanding why these mistakes happen and how to prevent them at the design stage.
